By FAR one of the best places I’ve eaten in the city. We stumbled upon this bar while walking our dog and are so incredibly happy we did. We took a drink recommendation from our server and were amazed at the depth of flavor and freshness. To top it off, the duck blew our minds in the best way. Wish I could give you 6 stars!!Fithawi and Shintaro-special thanks for making this Covid-19 impromptu drink turn into a go-to must have. We’ll definitely be back!
MoreHighly overrated. Slow service, average food- not worth it, much better places in the area
MoreBill your bartender was amazing!!!! He takes his time to critique every bit of the cocktails in order to control the quality of each aspect. He ensures the quality by testing the product, he’s personable with a pleasant smile. Easy to talk to and cares about the consumer. The fact that this person carefully tests every drink and without sipping your own straw (I’ve seen before) takes a spoon on his hand to test how good it is and it’s great.
MoreReally nice place. Love the feel, food and drink here
I went here for drinks before a show at LPR, and was not disappointed! The drinks are amazing and the work and skill that goes into making the drinks is on full display - from carving up giant cubes of ice to shaking, stirring, and pouring cocktails. Stop by here for drinks, and bring friends if you want to impress them. I heard the food is good as well, but haven't tried for myself yet.
MoreJapanese royal style decoration with dime light. There are some interesting drinks, such as the hot cocktail with scotch, green tea, plum wine, mint and dried lemon. It came out in an elegant tea cup. Food wise, both Katsu Sando and Uni Toast are worth to try. I like the sweet miso sauce in the Katsu Sando.
MoreThank you Fatawi and Shitori. Good luck during these crazy times
Had a lovely time at Bar Moga. The vibe is really nice, trying to capture the feel of a jazzy speakeasy. The staff were very nice and extremely attentive. The food was amazing. We had the Omu Rice and the Katsu sandwich. We will definitely be back again. Also make to make reservations or there will be a long wait time.
MoreDelicious food and great service. As a non drinker they were able to Make me a great virgin cocktail. The food was creative and delicious. Only wish we were able to try more things on the menu.
MoreDelicious food and cocktails! The atmosphere was great and the chef was amazing. Would highly recommend the Omurice. Loved it!!
MoreNice cocktails and sake Omurice is bit salty and nothing exceptional other than cutting show with a big knife Appetizers are good but tiny and pricy
MoreAmazing! The atmosphere was romantic and the omelet rice was amazing!
Bar Moga is a Japanese fusion restaurant. My family and I ordered omu rice, seasonal fish tataki, katsu sandu, and seafood gratin. My favorite was omu rice. I would have to say it was the best omu rice I ever had in my life. Katsu sandu was also very good. Seafood gratin tasted really good too but it wasn't a lot. I think seasonal fish tataki was okay but that's just because I don't really like Mac and cheese. Price: eventhough it's in new york, the price was very reasonable. We payed 72 dollars for four dishes. Overall: I recommend going to this place. There's also alcohol so it's a good hangout place with friends. I don't drink so I didn't order any. The price is also very reasonable.
MoreThe omu rice exceeded my expectations. I’ve seen this dish all over Instagram and it was a must have. Commonly found in japan. If you’re Hispanic like me.. think arroz con huevos. If you’re Hawaiian.. the flavor kind of reminded me of a loco moco cause of the gravy. Basically it’s an omelette over fried rice with a rich gravy. The egg continues to cook once cut open and the hot gravy is poured on top so it’s not as runny when you eat.Don’t miss out on the rice burger either! Buns are made of rice patties that are crispy on the outside. Loved the flavor on the burger. So simple but familiar and different all at once.Follow me for more food pics on Instagram @whetyourappetites
Moregreat food, good cocktails, cozy vibes and attentive service without breaking your bank account. Their katsu sandwich is so delicious I'm already thinking about going back. Would recommend for a date.
MoreWe visited Bar Moga for their famous omelet rice and what we found was some of the best made Japanese comfort food we've ever had. Thinking about it more carefully, it should have been obvious given that a place serving perfect omelet rice (it's no easy feat to cook a perfect omelet to cut in front of EVERY customer) would also prepare all other dishes at a high level of perfection. The panko batter mixture coating the croquette and the menchi katsu was light and airy. The grilled caesar salad was actually made with a head of lettuce that had been GRILLED. The seafood gratin was full of seafood and not just a bunch of pasta. There's nothing magical about the food prepped at Bar Moga, and the price is definitely high for the serving portion, but the impeccable quality of food is what really impressed us.
MoreI had gone on a night where there was a limited menu only so I can only speak to those foods I had in my photos... which were all fantastic! The chef cut the omurice right in front of us and it was just so tantalizing watching it. The pork sliders (translated name) is probably also the juiciest pork I have ever had, and I wish I were exaggerating, because I was not ready when I took a bite.
MoreWill help you grasp the impressive world of Japanese whiskeys.
